- קַנְטְרָן, קַנְתְּ׳m. (v. preced. articles) a quarrelsome: person, disputatious. Esth. R. to II, 5 וכי קנת׳ היה ועיברוכ׳ was he (Mordecai) contumacious and one who disregards the kings decree?Pl. קַנְטְרָנִים, קַנְטְרָנִין, קַנְתְּ׳. Ned.48a אנשי גליל ק׳ היווכ׳ the Galileans were quarrelsome and wont to forswear enjoying benefits from one another. Naz.49b מפני שקנת׳ הןוכ׳ because they are disputatious, (and do not come to learn ; Kidd.52b.Cant. R. to VI, 11, אגוזים ק׳, v. קִטְּרוֹנִים.
